Film
A community choir, CorVoce, travels through the Covid pandemic, when singing together is ‘the most dangerous act you can do.‘ -Frozen River Film Festival
The film “Singing Kindness” features the premiere of Catherine Dalton’s composition “Only Kindness,” based on the poem “Kindness” by Naomi Shihab Nye. Collaborating with video storyteller, Barbara Wiener, CorVoce chronicled the creation and preparation of this important work during the trying times of COVID 19. The film was featured in the Frozen Film Festival at Winona State University in February 2022 and won one of only five awards presented by judges.
CorVoce Sampler
The sampler below features fifteen clips of concert repertoire performed by CorVoce (formerly the Saint Paul Vocal Forum) and recorded live in concert under the direction of Karin Barrett, with piano accompaniment by Steve Norquist. This sampler was created for the “Only Kindness” online celebration and fundraiser that we produced in 2021.
